Idea for the Month
All courses have been UPDATED!
Included in the new look and feel of the user platform are updated courses and materials. It is very important that you have the most up-to-date materials to share with your students. Please download all courses and materials anew from the site this year – even if you saved them from last year. Every document – Q&A, Soundbites, etc – has been reviewed and updated.
Our Next Course is…
As you have seen, our next course is part of our new series – the Culture Series. The Culture Series will focus on the history and attributes of the music of some amazing cultures around the world. Kicking off this series is an exploration of Native American Traditional Music. We have been working hard on the course over the summer and it looks amazing. We are currently putting on the final touches and it should be ready to launch before the end of the month. We are excited to have an amazing artist, Supaman, as a our narrator for this exciting course. Here is is bit of his “Fancy Dancing” artistry to get you excited… click on Supaman
How You Can Help
We need feedback from your students! This keeps our program free of charge!
As always… thank you, thank you, thank you for being a Music Workshop teacher and giving the gift of music to your students. We hope Music Workshop is a valuable part of your musical teaching resources – inspiring our young minds to live musical lives.
We are currently gearing up for our annual fundraiser – a dinner/dance party called the Inspire Bash. It is an amazing, fun, inspiring night where we get to sing, dance and show support for music education. We need your help to share our story with our generous donors. Your stories are vital to the success of Music Workshop. Attached to this email you will find a Feedback Form for your students. We would love to have as many of your students as possible fill out this form. We attach their feedback form as thank you notes for our donors. They love to see how the students think, feel and are inspired by Music Workshop. You can scan them and email.
And here is the best part… since one good turn deserves another… we have a gift for you for participating! Send Student Feedback Forms and have your choice of a thank you gift.
- An Inspire hat (in one of five colors)
- 25 kazoos for your classroom
- $25 Amazon gift card. And if you send both – videos and feedback forms, we will double that
- To get all this done and available for our Inspire Bashwe would need to receive the videos or forms by October 15, 2018.
- Please send scanned feedback forms (or contact me for our address if you would like to mail – we will reimburse postage) to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Music Workshop Superstar
Speaking of shouting it from the rooftops – our September superstar is Katherine Theissen. She heard about Music Workshop from another teacher in her district, Angie – who shared about our program at a district wide music teachers meeting. Katherine joined the Music Workshop family and loved the program. THEN – Katherine went onto TWO Facebook music teacher groups and shared about her experience with Music Workshop – recommending us to any music teachers who needs a high-quality music resource (for free). She even attached a link to our site! Talk about a superstar – we got over 100 new teachers signed up in a WEEK! Amazing! We naturally sent her a Amazon gift card and some Music Workshop swag as a well deserved “Thank you!”.
Thank you Katherine! You are our hero!
We are a small operation – two people strong – so appreciate all the help we can get in spreading the word about our program!
Music Workshop Fun Fact
We kicked the school year off by receiving an amazing award! We love inspiring K-8 students to find their musical path! Thank you Portland Monthly for this wonderful recognition of the work we are doing to bring inspirational music education to K-8 students around the world.
Music Is For Everyone!
Thank you Music Workshop Teachers! We always appreciate how wonderful you are, but we are feeling especially grateful for all the patience and understanding you have shown us during the website transition. We are so pleased to be on the done side of that huge project and we truly hope that you love the improvements.
